Saturday, 24 November is international Buy Nothing Day.
News
Tue, 11 Dec, 17:54: Sabina filmed us zombies and mime zombie Cox did a great job with editing the video footage. Have a look at the 8 minute video and see for yourself!
Sat, 24 Nov, 22:49: We had great fun, 7-10 people showed up, see photos - Buy nothing again next year
Fri, 23 Nov, 17:33: Most likely we will have a journalist with us, documenting reactions from the shoppers. More press?
Fri, 23 Nov, 15:37: We will meet Saturday at 18:00 inside the Alexa shopping centre (Alexanderplatz) at the massive fancy golden X-mas tree near the main entrance (map), wait for a few minutes for people to arrive and then swarm out, dress up, and meet back at the tree a few minutes later and start the improvisation. If they send us out before, we will probably be near the street, outside their private property. Bring old torn clothes, and your 80s dancing shoes!
Tomorrow during the day we will create and copy the leaflets - help welcome! Thu, 22 Nov: As many as 3 people showed up on Wednesday for the prep meeting at the Offene Uni BerlinS (OUBS) - so you really want to improvise - OK!
What's happening?
We are doing a small improvised zombie/clown performance on Saturday at 18:00 in front or inside the Alexa shopping centre at Alexanderplatz in Berlin - you are welcome to join! We will dress up like zombies, wear scary make-up (Halloween long gone?), hand out leaflets and turn other people into zombies. No, wait, we want to un-shopping-zombiefy them in fact!
Michael Jackson promised support and sent us his Thriller video for inspiration.
